Background to the formation of Actors and Movers
Actors and Movers was initially established in 2001 to represent actors with additional movement skills.
This has proved a successful combination and the high demand for actors in film, television, theatre, radio, voice over and visual theatre work continues.
Halina Froudist
Halina was a member of the Junior and Senior West Australian Ballet Companies. She then moved to Ballroom and Latin American dancing and represented Australia, as a Leader of the Latin American Formation Dancing Team competing in the British Open Championships at the Royal Albert Hall, which they won.
On her return to Perth she met Marcel Marceau who invited her to join his International School of Mimodrame in Paris. She was then officially selected to spend 3 years in full time intensive training. Classes were taught by Marceau and his selection of European Masters of various disciplines which included fencing, (classical and stage combat), dance (classical and jazz), acrobatics and drama.
Halina was awarded the Diploma on completion and was invited by Ann Marceau to join her company with whom she toured for 2 years. She had the unique experience of performing with Marceau in a full length mime drama in Montepulciano Italy. This was the first time he had performed with a company in over 30 years and without his traditional white face . Halina was also Marceau’s Guest Teacher in the States.
She has acted, performed and taught around the world and was the co-recipient of numerous awards and grants. The photo above was taken from ‘The Children of Lir’ – a full length mime drama on emigration for which she was a recipient of the Arts Council’s Innovative Theatre Award for her performance and creative work.
Dora Biagioni-Froudist
Dora’s photography work has been published in the World Photography Yearbook. Amongst the multitude of things she does in the background for the Agency, she edits, uploads photos and showreels for the website, works her magic on audition tapes and advises actors on the technical side of things. (She has a calming influence in a technical emergency). She also maintains the website.
… and a big thank you to Brenda who is there at a drop of a hat to help out at any time!
We look forward to discussing the actors with you.
